His father worked for multiple decades in the Bay Area as a longshoreman and was a proud member of the ILWU. His mother built a career that blended education and entrepreneurship, beginning as a Special Education Teacher before later owning and operating a local clothing store. He grew up with one sister in a household centered on support, structure, and shared responsibility.
